David Nazar

David Nazar is the Founder, and Managing Partner of Ironshield Capital Management. Since launching the firm in 2007, he has dedicated his career to building a specialist platform focused on European levered, stressed and distressed corporate credit. David leads Ironshield’s investment strategy, overseeing fundamental research, portfolio construction and macro positioning across all strategies. His approach blends rigorous bottom-up analysis with a clear strategic vision shaped by more than two decades immersed in complex credit markets.

Before founding Ironshield, David was a Principal within Bank of America’s European Special Situations Principal Investment Group, where he managed a US$400m proprietary book investing in European stressed and distressed opportunities. Prior to this, he held senior roles in distressed debt and investment banking at Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and Salomon Brothers, gaining extensive experience in corporate restructuring, capital raising, and M&A advisory across the telecommunications, media and industrial sectors. This cross-cycle perspective underpins David’s disciplined approach to identifying catalysts, managing risk and navigating shifting market regimes.

Under David’s leadership, Ironshield has evolved into a firm known for its transparency, analytical depth and high-touch engagement with institutional investors. His long-standing commitment to integrity, intellectual curiosity and operational excellence continues to shape Ironshield’s culture and investment philosophy.

David studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
