Credit Opportunities is Ironshield Capital’s strategy focused on long-only credit investments across European markets. The strategy focuses on acquiring dislocated credits at deep discounts where complexity, capital structure or timing create opportunity such as restructurings and liquidation-driven opportunities. Implemented through a closed-ended structure, the strategy allows positions to be held through events and recoveries without disruption from short-term capital flows.
Careful structuring and detailed credit analysis underpin each position, with disciplined downside assessment applied throughout to evaluate risk relative to the specific characteristics of each opportunity.

Analysis focuses on documentation, structure and issuer fundamentals, with downside protection and long-term credit quality guiding each stage of capital deployment.
In this short video, David Nazar outlines the firm’s approach and explains how disciplined credit analysis informs illiquid long-only decision-making.

Credit Opportunities is implemented through disciplined capital deployment into long-only European credit investments, with structuring, documentation and fundamental credit analysis central to managing risk where market liquidity is constrained.
Buy and hold investment philosophy. We lean on deep bottom-up analysis to harvest alpha from structural mispricings, relative value dislocations, and asymmetric event paths. We price risk and complex situations with our bespoke valuation model and investment process.
Each opportunity is evaluated with long-term capital horizons in mind, with patience and discipline applied throughout to support credit quality and align deployment with the structural characteristics of each investment.

Exploiting general market and individual name dislocations. Focused on exploiting dislocations in credits at the lower end of the liquidity spectrum to buy positions at low prices. Fundamental Strategy looking for asymmetric risk/reward credits. Adding positions after credit events to minimize downside risk. Focused on analysis and credit selection, rather than activism.
